System for automatic detection and penalization of offenses committed by drivers of vehicles who fail to stop at a red light. The system consists of a CPU processing unit and a set of cameras simultaneously observing the front and rear of the vehicle. The moment of offense is considered when the vehicle’s front crosses the conditional stop line or the main traffic signal line while the signal is displaying red. Both the signal state and vehicle detection on the line are solely based on video stream analysis from the cameras; no connection to the traffic signal controller or other sensors is utilized. The evidence of the offense is encrypted, protected with a digital signature, and immediately transmitted to the central offense handling system.
